Local Resilience
- A TechShop organized as social infrastructure -- money is not a barrier to entry
- ScienceShops, where scientific chemical and biological analyses can be done without huge expense
- MedicalShops -- dare I suggest it? -- where individuals can do their own medical tests. The medical industry will not be happy about this, however, and will call it "practicing medicine without a license". There is probably some validity to this complaint (tests done the wrong way or under the wrong circumstances can be dangerous), but we need to understand what aspects of it are valid and which are simply guild protectionism.
